Accomodations:
The Hunter 38 was designed as an exceptionally comfortable cruiser with outstanding performance and easy handling. The Hunter 38's sail plan features a large roach mainsail with flaking system and an anodized B&R double spreader fractional rig with struts on a conventional mast, or the easy-to-sail SeldenA furling system. Coupled with either sail plan, the Hunter 38's new stainless steel rudder design delivers exceptional power that is more aerodynamically efficient and responsive when under way. Interior comfort rules in the Hunter 38, thanks to the dedicated effort of our team of interior designers and stylists. Spaciousness is achieved by the 6'6 tall cabin ceiling framed in solid teak, which is balanced by an Everwear laminate teak-and-holly sole. An extra large salon, master stateroom with en suite head, guest stateroom with V-berth, full-service galley and dedicated nav station all work together onboard the Hunter 38 to create a functional interior living environment. Sail a Hunter 38 today to experience performance cruising in comfort! Hunter's famed designer and racer Glenn Henderson designed the 38 with one focus in mind. "Our goal was to design a boat that was an exceptionally comfortable cruiser, yet offered outstanding performance and easy handling," said Henderson. "Our new 38 has met -- and exceeds -- expectations." "The whole sail plan is aerodynamically efficient," explained Henderson. "I will not design a mast head rig sail plan. The fractional rig with large mainsail delivers better performance, and the smaller head sail means easier sail handling for both passengers and crew." SailTime is exceptionally proud to offer the new Hunter 38 into our fleet. The spacious interior makes it ideal for SailTime Members and with Glenn Hendersona's proven designs, the performance is exciting. Fractional sailing is an innovative new approach to sailboat access and ownership that makes it easier, quicker and more economical for aspiring captains to take the helm of a new sailboat. This is how it works: A sailboat is "shared" by seven Members and one Owner Member who each are guaranteed, but not restricted to, at least two weekend sail times and five weekday/night sail times every month. Additionally, each sailing Member is entitled to unlimited "as-available" use on a 24-hour notice at no extra cost. Members design their own sailing calendar using the highly advanced SailTime Scheduler , a proprietary online, real-time scheduling system. Members can make instant sailing reservations or plan up to a year in advance and can even request to swap sail times with other Members. If a Member fails to use all of their sail time in one month, they can carry it over to the next month. Time can also be borrowed from a forward month for extended cruising. ADVANTAGES TO FRACTIONAL SAILING: SailTime is the new alternative to traditional boat ownership or sailing club membership. Consider this, most people who own a sailboat use it 2-3 times per month. Yet the cost of ownership is high: slip fees are $250-$400 per month, your monthly payment to the bank could range from $200/mo to $1000/mo, sailboat maintenance is expensive, there's yachting insurance and, the list goes on and on . . ! And, sailing clubs...well, most boat owners come from frustrated sailing club members fed up with boats in poor condition and hard to get sailboat availability that coincides with your free time. With Fractional Sailing you share access to a new sailboat with seven others who are also interested in sailing. Individually, you are guaranteed at least seven sail times per month, and SailTime covers the insurance, marina fees, cleaning and repairs of the sailboat. All for a monthly cost that is usually less than a day's charter rate at a local sailing club or monthly slip charges for a similar boat. With boat ownership if you tire of the boat you have to sell it. With Fractional Sailing there is no long-term commitment. Members can opt out of the program any time they want with minimal restrictions. The appeal of SailTime is that it's essentially a turn-key system, Members simply point, click, and sail !
