Electrical System:
Electrical system consist of 24 deep cycle 6 volt batteries divided inot banks of 12 volt (2 x 6v) house and engine batteries and banks of 24 volt (4 x 6v) batteries powering 110 volt inverters. Inverter capacity is 5000 watts enabling any 110 volt usage without generator operation. This inverter usage includes running one air conditioning unit (of 3)during the night. There are two sources of recharging these 24 volt battery banks. Both main engines have 24 volt (50amp) alternators as well as the normal 12 volt alternators. Further, for shore power or generator charging, there is a heavy duty commercial 24 volt constavolt type charger in addition to two conventional 12 volt type chargers. Shore power inlets (240v-50a) both port & starboard cable TV and telephone inlet starboard. Additional Equipment:
ISLAND DANCER was damged in Hurricane Hugo (Oct.1989) suffering damage to the port side. Repairs were made during 1991 including complete awlgrip paint in spring 1991.ISLAND DANCER was factory modified by the addition of 3,000 pounds of additional lead ballast fieberglassed to the bottom of the keel resulting in draft of 6' 10" in lieu of the standard 6' 6". This section could be removed if desired.REMARKS:ISLAND DANCER is a most commodious island cruiser with all modern conveniences. This vessel is easily handled by a crew of two and would charter well.
