1985 Hudson Mickelson 51 or Venice 51,A complete description can be found on my web site: . This heavily constructed, (52,000 lbs) fiberglass, pilothouse cruising ketch is 51 feet on deck and 63 feet overall. She was manufactured by experienced and long time boat builder, Hudson Enterprise Inc. Taiwan. The hull was designed by one of Seattles well known and long term architects, Bill Garden. Important hull and interior design changes were incorporated during the 1985 build. These design changes increased interior space, made the cabins more attractive, comfortable and livable. This model was sold under two names, the Venice 51 and the Mickelson 51.The deck structure was redesigned from earlier versions known as the Force Fifty to incorporate vacuum impregnated epoxy into the fiberglass encasing the marine plywood deck sections. This major design change increased the deck strength, greatly deterred water from entering the marine plywood in the deck and isolated deck sections from sources of water migration. The deck structure had been a major problem in previous designs because the deck was merely a 3 layer laminated structure of fiberglass wood and fiberglass. In that design, if water entered through the top layer of glass, it easily migrated through the thin layers of untreated plywood, which then could start the dry rot weakening of the whole deck.OUR PLEASURE is located in Cortez, Florida along the intercostals waterway just 15 miles north of Sarasota. The asking price is $199,990.00. This reduced price is based on a recent survey that estimated the fair market value at $382,500.00 and the estimated replacement value at $1,430,000.00. The overall vessel rating was determined as BRISTOL.For further information, please review the general information, descriptions and system information on my web site: Inquiries may addressed to Dick Bennett at 941.792.1578.
