W.D. Schock built 50 Grand Prix Santana 30/30s from 1982 to 1987. This model is equipped with rod rigging, hydraulic backstays, and internal halyards, the G.P. with its lower cabin and fewer interior amenities, is the model you want for racing. A typical PHRF rating for the Santana 30/30 GP is 114, and the boat is raced with six crew. This Nelson/Marek design sails to its rating best in medium air. This one had a new Yanmar 10hp diesel installed in 2007!NEW DECK!!! 03Boat went in to boat shop for the winter due to having wet spots in the deck s balsa core. ALL hardware including toe rail was removed. All wet areas were completely drilled out and wet balsa was removed with wire bits. Heat lamps then dried out the deck for approx. 60 days (until moisture meter showed not even a trace). The deck was then completely sanded down. A 2 tone (light gray/white) deck was professionally sprayed on complete with non-skid. A 2 part epoxy interlux paint was used on all deck surfaces. Many other updates include a new rudder in 2002, Nexus electronics with mast mount displays, Harken adjustable genoa leads and much more!!One of the best handicap racers on the market!!!
