The J/35 has been defined as instant gratification for offshore handicap racers. No other sailboat has elevated the self-esteem of sailors as dramatically as the J/35. Rod Johnstone designed a 35 foot performance sailboat with ease of handling for experienced and not so experienced sailors. Her uncomplicated design makes her responsive over a wide range of conditions. The characteristics that make her an excellent racer make her an excellent cruiser with a spacious interior.Below we find a forward private V-berth with room and comfort. Between the forward stateroom and the salon is an enclosed head compartment with toilet, mirrored vanity with sink, and shower. The main salon has facing settees with centerline dining table. Aft we find a starboard navigation table with chart storage. Port side is the galley with stainless steel gimballed Origo two-burner alcohol stove with oven, insulated ice box, Formica counter top with stainless steel sink, and storage cabinets. There are two quarterberths aft. The salon feature teak & holly sole with teak cabinetry. The J/35 has a large open salon with room to spare. A Volvo diesel engine provides auxiliary power.
