1981 HANS CHRISTIAN Pilothouse, Many years ago, a book was printed in Rotterdam describing the lifeboats used for work in the great winter storms of the North Sea, magnificent double-ended boats under 60-feet that put to sea in virtual hurricanes. The heritage of the Hans Christian 44 began with that concept: an immensely rugged North Sea-type vessel designed to take anything and to do the job in comfort. She has a hull that has been designed to sail, and sail she does! Plus she has wonderful performance under power. The space below is enormous and impeccably finished in Burmese teak, bronze and marble. She has been very well maintained by all three of her prior owners, and has plied the waters of the West Coast from Glacier Bay Alaska, to Puerto Vallarta Mexico.
