Find out what it's worth
Accomodations:
Starting forward is a V berth with filler and overhead hatch for ventilation. There is storage beneath with access on either side of the V opening. Next aft is the head to starboard with hot and cold pressure water, vanity, shower and marine toilet with holding tank and deck or overboard pump-out. Next aft is the spacious main salon with two chairs and small table to port and a large settee to starboard. A double leaf centerline table will feed the entire crew while the port table works well for two. The Galley is aft to port with stove, sink and storage. The refrigerator is across to starboard with two well insulated top openings. Next aft you step up into the pilot house with nav station, quarter berth, large settee and inside helm. A ladder leads to the cockpit with hard dodger, full enclosure and outside helm.
Mechanical Equipment:
There is a water maker, diesel furnace, dual fuel filters with quick change, a hard dodger with Lexan windows, hydraulic steering flex coupling on the shaft and many other extras. If you are looking for a comfortable live aboard or a "blue water" cruiser Dora Rose is worth a visit.
Galley:
The galley is laid out to port with a stainless steel sink, H&C pressure water and a Force 10 three burner propane stove with oven. Across to starboard is a double, top entry refrigerated ice box. There is plenty of storage space. The white Formica cabinetry is bright and clean. A small microwave oven is ready for quick meals. This is a good sized work area and the chef will not feel cramped when preparing meals.
Electonics and Navigational Gear:
Most of the navigation gear is at the inside helm. There is Radar, GPS/plotter, knot, depth and wind. Compasses are at both stations. A stereo provides background music. There are rudder angle indicators at inside and outside steering stations.
Electrical System:
Dockside power is supplied via a 30A shore power cord. This powers a marine battery charger when in the marina. At sea or on the hook the battery bank is toped off via two Siemens 75W solar panels. Another charging system is the Ampair wind and/or water generator. There are two "D" sized house batteries and one engine start battery. All are new as of June 2008. A 1800W inverter is part of the Hart marine charger. A 100A Balmer alternator provides DC charging when the engine is running. The yacht can make electricity in so many ways one can always feel comfortable with their on- board power supply.
Deck and Hull Equipment:
The bottom was stripped in 2001--actually peeled--by Osmotech, and a new layup from the mat and roving out done with vinyl-ester resin. This is the best (and most expensive) fix for osmotic blistering. The hull sides and decks are cored with Airex for strength and insulation. These boats are built in Canada so a lot of thought goes into keeping the owners warm in often extreme conditions. There are stanchions with double life lines. A number of pad eyes are installed for hooking on your safety harness when on deck in heavy seas. Ground tackle consists of a 45# Bruce with 200' of 3/8 chain and 125' of 3/4" rode. A small,20#,anchor is also equipped with chain and rode. A Simpson Lawrence electric windlass helps manage the anchor retrieval.
Sails and Rigging:
All the sails are of the 1985 vintage. There is a full battened main with Harken's Battcar system to make hoisting and dropping the main almost effortless. There is a 150 Genoa with a single line roller furler. There is an inner forstay with "club foot boom" to make the hank on staysail self tending. The inner forestay is quickly remover to convert her from a cutter rig to a sloop rig when desired. The is a trisail track on the mast and a storm trisail and storm jib that a virtually unused. There are running back stays, gybe preventer, boom vang and boom gallows.
1980 CORBIN LES BATEAUX Aft Cockpit Pilot House, These Canadian yachts were built to handle anything the sea can bring their way. Many had owner finished interiors with predictable results. This one was FACTORY FINISHED and the interior wood work is superb. She is set up to cruise or live aboard. Central diesel heat with insulated hull sides and overhead keeps you warm in winter. A complete set of navigational instruments and solar panels will make her a joy for long passages under sail. Come visit her and see what you think.
